The Game

Exploring

During gameplay, you can explore the world of Latraynope at any time (as long as you aren't on a story mission on a specific area). When exploring, you can trade items, armor, and weapons in the shops, stay at an inn (for a fee) to restore all of the squad members to pristine condition, explore dungeons, etc. As the game progresses, more squadron members will join you on your adventure.

Learning and Honing Arts

As you progress on the game, you'll be able to hone the member's skills, along with learning new ones. New Combat and Drive Arts are earned by leveling up and spending LP (Learn Points). Earning from leveling up is simple: Simply earn enough experience until the member levels up. Only the active members receive Experience Points. Alternatively, you can spend LP. You can access the Learn Arts menu on the Arts menu.

Learning new Mystical Arts works differently. With the exception of Elena, all members can learn a specific set of Mystical Arts by visiting a Magic Shop and buy the required scrolls for each skill. Then, you can simply use the menu to learn it.

Some Arts have better versions as well. You can exchange LP to hone them.

Exploring Dungeons

When exploring, you can enter into dungeons. When inside the dungeons, you can fight enemies, find items and (in some cases) fulfill requests you've received. In any case, if you are close enough, the enemy will chase you when they see you. Dashing make you more visible to the enemy. If you sneak up to the enemy, you will get the upper hand in the battle. The same thing happens to you if the enemy sneaks up on you. With some exceptions, you can escape from battles, but it may take longer to do so. More info about this is covered in the Battles section of the manual.

In Battles

1	Member Commands	All commands available for the member.

3	States Display	All buffs, debuffs, and states that were applied to the member.
4	Member Action	Shows the action of member.
5	Position	Points if the member is in the offensive or defensive row.
6	Health Points (HP)	The member's current Health Points.
7	Mana Points (MP)	The member's current Mana Points.
8	Drive Points (DP)	The member's current Drive Points.
9	Enemy HP	The enemy's Health Points.
10	Enemy's States Display	All buffs, debuffs and states that were applied to the enemy.
11	Enemy weaknesses	The enemy's weakness(es) are shown here. If you haven't found them yet, they'll simply show an empty box.
-Top Right-	Battle Order	The order of each combatant. The order goes from the left side to the right side.

Command	Description
Attack	Attack an enemy.
Combat A.	Access the character's Combat Arts.
Mystical A.	Access the character's Mystical Arts.
Drive A.	Access the character's Drive Arts.
E. Skill	Access any enemy skills you stole. (Gus only)
Inventory	Use any items you have in the inventory
Guard	The member focuses to avoid the attack or (at least) to minimize the damage of the attack.

Squadron Commands

You can access this menu by pressing the Cancel key, when at least one member is ready.

Command	Description
Fight	Go back to the battle.
Squadron	Manage the squadron and swap active members.
Escape	Attempt to escape from the battle.

Escaping	For the most part, you can escape from battles unless it's a story or a mission specific battle by selecting "Escape" from the squadron commands menu. This affected mainly by the party's agility. If the enemy squadron is faster than yours, you will have a hard time escaping.
Critical Point	When a member's Health Points are 20%, they will reach their Critical Point. When they are at their Critical Point, they'll receive less damage from attacks, giving you time to heal them.
